Crystallization via tubing microfluidics permits both in situ and ex situ X-ray diffraction.
A microfluidic platform was used to address the problems of obtaining diffraction-quality crystals and crystal handling during transfer to the X-ray diffractometer. Crystallization conditions of a protein of pharmaceutical interest were optimized and X-ray data were collected both in situ and ex situ.
متن کاملCyclic olefin homopolymer-based microfluidics for protein crystallization and in situ X-ray diffraction
Microfluidics is a promising technology for the rapid identification of protein crystallization conditions. However, most of the existing systems utilize silicone elastomers as the chip material which, despite its many benefits, is highly permeable to water vapour. This limits the time available for protein crystallization to less than a week. Here, the use of a cyclic olefin homopolymer-based ...
متن کاملFabrication of Ti3SiC2-SiC max phase composites via in-situ and ex-situ synthesis
Recently, a series of three-component compounds with the combination of Mn+1AXn known as Max phases have been considered as a new material. One of the most important features of Max phases, is the self-healing property of them. The main reason for considering Max Phases is a unique collection of unusual properties including their metallic, ceramic, physical, and mechanical properties. One of th...
متن کاملIn-plate protein crystallization, in situ ligand soaking and X-ray diffraction.
X-ray crystallography is now a recognized technique for ligand screening, especially for fragment-based drug design. However, protein crystal handling is still tedious and limits further automation. An alternative method for the solution of crystal structures of proteins in complex with small ligands is proposed. Crystallization drops are directly exposed to an X-ray beam after cocrystallizatio...
متن کاملIn-situ X-ray diffraction study of phase crystallization from an amorphous MoVTeNb oxide catalyst precursor
The formation of the crystalline phases M2, M1, orthorhombic MoO3, and a tetragonal M5O14 (M=Mo,V,Nb) type phase during heat treatment of an amorphous Mo-V-Te-Nb oxide precursor in helium is investigated applying in-situ X-ray diffraction. The precursor was synthesized by precipitation, spray-drying and subsequent calcination of the dried orange powder in air at 275°C. Crystallization of M2 sta...
